Hoy, y en este preciso momento, la verdad… se está llevando a cabo la Feria de Ilustración Safari. Una reunión entrete de muchos artistas, diseñadores, ilustradores muy talentosos.
Yo conocía por instagram a un par de participantes como NatiCerezos o ainatt_ , y fui con Epifanio.
Me gustó la variedad de estilos, las ilustraciones y la variedad de productos que algunos ofrecían (bolsos de género estampados con timbres hechos a mano, tarjetas/postales, libretitas, stickers, imanes para refrigerador, fanzines, camafeos (?), y por supuesto ilustraciones tanto prints como originales). Todo hermoso.
En precios? había de todo un poco.
Si tuviera que decir un detalle que logró en cierta forma opacar un poco la feria, tendría que ser honesta y decir la falta de ventilación del lugar. Si bien no fue un día caluroso para los que se acostumbran en estos días en Santiago, el lugar tenía tan poca ventilación, que se tornó un tanto desagradable estar adentro mirando las cosas… tanto para nosotros los visitantes, como los artistas que tenían que estar ahí desde las 13 a 21 horas que duraba la feria. No es un detalle menor a considerar para una próxima oportunidad.

Today, and as we speak, to tell the truth… The Safari Illustration Fair is taking place. It’s a really fun meeting of lots of artists, designers, illustrators. All of them very talented.
I only knew through Instagram some of the participants like NatiCerezos or ainatt_ , and I went with Epifanio.
I liked that there was a huge variety of styles, I like the illustrations and the variety of products that some of them had to offer (stamped tote bags (with handmade stamps), postcards or just plan cards, little notebooks, stickers, magnets for the refrigerator, fanzines, illustrated cameos and of course prints or original illustrations. Everything was beautiful.
When it comes to prices… it varied a lot.
If I had to choose a detail that kind of overshadowed the whole exposition, i’d have to be honest and say the lack of air circulation in the place. It was not a hot day, like the ones we are used to have in Santiago but the place turned a little unpleasant for us visitors and also for the poor artists who had to be there from 13 to 21 hours. It is something to consider for a next opportunity.
I appreciate the exchanges we had with the Instagram friends ^^!!! The shopping I enjoyed at Conty Ilustraciones and her beautiful embroidery art.
(Also the people who bought a few things from me, I was like the black market there haha!)
